Abundant Life Education
This two-day program can be adapted for your needs and hosted at your site.
The Abundant Life Wellness Awareness Tool is the core best practice and is used throughout the program. Handouts for Wellness Education is a student booklet, which includes activities and strategies to use new knowledge and skills, personally and professionally.
The Curriculum
This evaluated method of adult learning includes short lectures, individual reflection, case studies, group activities, and wellness practices. Samples include: Connecting through Listening, and Abundant Life Activity. Internal support and evaluation are included. Program material focuses on dimensions of wellness.
- Physical wellness entails honoring our body and taking responsibility for our well-being. This includes eating a balanced diet, maintaining an exercise routine, avoiding harmful substances, and healthy sleep habits.
- Psychosocial wellness entails honoring our self as a person in relationship with others and taking responsibility for right relationships. This includes the role of emotions, comprehension, attitude, and coping in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and well-being in community. Listening skills and relationship-building are key.
- Spiritual wellness entails an understanding of our place in the universe and our connectedness to something greater than our self. This gives life meaning and allows us to adapt to change and to embrace life’s challenges. Understanding and responding to spiritual pain is taught as an essential component of caring for our self and others.
Meaning—makes our life significant
Relatedness—connects us to others
Hope—influences our expectations
Forgiveness—relieves us of judgement
